Show up 20- 30 minutes early for your tee time.

You will not be rushed to the first tee forced to hit an impossible low rising power fade to a bottle necked fairway. With this time you can warm up, hit a small bucket of balls. Use the practice green. The putter will be the most used club in your bag. So get used to the speed of the greens, get confident over those three footers. Because when you start draining those you will speed up the game for everyone.

To show up early also tells the starter that you're ready to go, and they might just let you tee off earlier, allowing you to make that dinner with the significant other.

You can look at it in two ways, showing up early will give you a better chance of breaking your personal low and/or get back to the non golfers in your life in a respectable time.
